Buying electric cars: common questions

Should I worry about the battery on a used electric car?
Battery wear is usually gradual, and most manufacturers cover the high-voltage battery with a separate warranty of around eight years and 100,000 miles that transfers to later owners. Ask for the remaining battery warranty and any state-of-health report before you buy.
Do I need a home charger?
It isn't essential, but charging at home overnight is the cheapest and most convenient way to run an electric car. If you can't charge at home, check the public chargers near where you live and work before you buy.
Are electric cars ULEZ compliant?
Yes. Fully electric cars produce no exhaust emissions, so they're exempt from ULEZ and Clean Air Zone charges.
